Create Custom Art with Landscape & Nature Photography
One of the best things about photography is the ability to capture anything you desire. Whether it's people, nature, pets or other random objects.
The beauty really is in the eye of the beholder, and just like with any other type of art, photography can be interpreted in many ways.
For some it speaks to the natural beauty in this world and in others it sparks a great appreciation for life and all that it has to offer.
So stop and take time to enjoy the nature and landscape around you.
Grab your camera and start snapping photos of all the things you see everyday.
You don't need an expensive camera or to be an expert photographer. Beauty and simplicity can be captured through any eye, and with any lens.
Bright Sky, Beautiful Water
I love taking pictures of water. It has a soothing and calming effect, so displaying photos of water in my home helps facilitate that atmosphere.
I was walking around the lake, when I took this photo. It was just a normal day at the park but the sky was perfect and the water cast a beautiful reflection of the trees.
Seasons Change with Colors
I absolutely love fall and think it's the best season by far. These photos capture that perfect moment when the leaves are just starting to change colors, but they aren't completely dead yet.
Gray Dock, Cloudy Skies
I normally take my camera with me everywhere, just in case I get some inspiration or come across an amazing photo opportunity.
I was out for a jog when the weather was gray and cloudy, then I came across this old and somewhat forgotten looking dock on the water.
When I got home, I uploaded the picture to CanvasOnDemand.com and in about 2 weeks I had a custom art canvas for my living area.
Sunset on the Water
This photo was taken while on vacation on the Florida coastline one year. I decided to blow it up and display it with a simple 16 x20 frame.
Now every time I walk past it on my wall it reminds me of a wonderful vacation and brings a feeling of peace to my mind.
Winter Fun
Anytime there's snow or cool weather in a photo, it makes me shiver just a little. But I like how photos can insight a feeling or a reaction.
When these photos were taken, I was high up on a ski lift in the middle of Colorado. The air was clean, crisp and with the valley down below, it makes for fantastic photos (and memories).
List of Equipment:
There are many ways to make your own art, but with photographs it's a little easier and more personal.
- Digital camera
Any style or type of camera will do, it doesn't need to be expensive.
Of course the better quality it is, the more it can capture and create beautiful shots.
- A computer or Kiosk
If you have your own computer you can upload your photos into a digital photo album like KodakGallery.com.
Otherwise you can take your SD card into any store near and print off the photos yourself at a kiosk.
3 Ways to Make Photos into Art
Now that you have the equipment you can start shooting everything in sight. Be creative.
- Buy inexpensive frames
Choose any size of the photo you want and purchase a simple frame, or a bunch of frames.
Group them by type (landscape, objects, people, etc) which will create simple but stunning artwork.
- Use a site like CanvasOnDemand
This website offers a variety of sizes and photo options, so just pick the one you prefer and you will have a unique piece of art on your wall.
- Create a custom collage
Magnetic or bulletin boards are a great way to have a personal collage of photos that's always interchangeable.
You can even put pictures of your children's artwork to mix it up a little.
Other Fun Tips
You don't need to be an expert to take beautiful pictures, just be creative and have fun with it.
There are lots of other ways you can create cheap photography art. Simple things like using different tints, black and whites, or even a photo split into multiple frames.
The art is for your enjoyment and for your home, so it doesn't need to be perfect. It just needs to reflect your personality and bring back great memories.
