Best Budget-Friendly Places

Seattle Washington is one of the most beautiful places in the U.S. to visit. It does get quite a bit of rain, but it's not as bad as you might think.

All the trees and plants are continuously green, and Seattle is home to an abundance of fresh seafood. Here are some tips and must-see places to visit while on vacation.

City Pass is a great way to see all the tourist locations for one great price! You can visit 6 of Seattle's best spots for only $59 (or $39 for kids). While visiting the Space Needle I almost spent that amount alone, and it saved me from standing in the long lines waiting to buy tickets.

THE WATERFRONT: overlooking the Seattle Harbor, the Waterfront has many restaurants, stores, and tourist shops to see. Just walking along the coast, overlooking the ocean while feeding seagulls, and taking photos. No need to bring your wallet here, just enjoy the scenery.

THE AQUARIUM: while you are still near the Waterfront, you should definitely stop in at the Seattle Aquarium. It's one of the 7th largest Aquariums in the United States. Home to all kinds of sea life, otters, penguins, octopus, and daily hands-on feeding demonstrations.

Museums

SPACE NEEDLE: of course this place has to make the list! It's one of the top tourist spots in the world (and featured in the movie Sleepless in Seattle). Beautiful 360 degree views of the city, the harbors, and the surrounding mountains. Buy a hot cup of coffee or get a few snacks while snapping photos.

SCIENCE FICTION MUSEUM AND EXPERIENCE MUSIC PROJECT: one of the best and most interactive museums! Showcasing all the science fiction shows and stories, and life story of Jimi Hendrix impact on rock and roll. Exhibits showing now - Avatar and Battlestar Galactica.

WEST SEATTLE: Take a drive along Alki Beach, you can park your car and walk along the coast. This is where you will find most of the locals, and the majority of tourist don't know about it, so it's not busy or over crowded.

During the summer this area is a hot spot for joggers, cyclists, roller bladers and sunbathers. It's full of green parks and beautiful trees.

SEATTLE FERRY: this is one of the coolest experiences in my life. It only cost about $12 for the day (round trip) but travelling in my car, while on a boat was incredible.

I definitely would recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. If you love taking photos like I do, you will fall in love with the scenery and scenic photo locations.

Food & Fun

PIKE'S MARKET: if you love food, or have a passion for cooking you MUST visit this market. it's home to the FIRST STARBUCKS, as well as the best fish and chips anywhere. You can choose from many local vendors and farmer's market produce, and fresh seafood.

Wow that was cool to see this! I live about 3 hours from Seattle and I haven't gone and toured it since I was 12!

I was so happy to not see Under Ground Seattle on here. Every time friends come over and want to go tour Seattle, they tell me they heard it's good. I've heard they don't even let kids anymore because they share a bunch of raunchy crap. But it sucks.

Have you ever been to Ye Old curiosity shop? They have two cool mummies, and the lord's prayer written on a grain of rice.

I definitely would recommend the Waterfront and Woodland park zoo also. If you like marine stuff, Point Defiance Zoo is just a little ways away in Tacoma but the rest of the zoo sucks.

Last but not least, there's a Chuck E Cheese type place in South Center called bullwinkle's fun place (or something like that) and it's actually fun.

Great hub! Brought back wonderful memories.

Thanks for the tip about Point Defiance Zoo, I'd love to go there next time I visit.

Take it with a grain of salt; if you're not fascinated by marine life the rest of the zoo sucks.
